Zambian Alliance for Empowered Communities (ZAFEC)

ZAFEC is an organization that aims at empowering local communities through various projects. Currently running is the pink house project which seeks to empower adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). The catchment area for the pink house project is Chipata compound. (1000 HIV POSITIVE 1000 HIV NEGATIVE) the pink house provides a wide range of activities which include facilitating health talks, Motivational talks, organizing ART for those living with HIV, skills training( baking, gardening, tailoring and many other basic skills), community action adolescent groups that meet four times a week (CAAGS).
On 22nd December, 2020, Makumbi Muleba a student from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Muleba raised funds on behalf of ZAFEC to purchase computers for the Pink House Library. The following items were purchased and handed over.
Five computers (with educational programs)
One color printer
Five headsets
Router
Five chairs
Printer table
Two realms of bold paper
Five USB Wi-Fi adapters
Paid for a three-week training in computer literacy to be offered by Asikana Network (45 trainers of trainer [AGYW] will be trained)
